US Grand Prix at the top
Hamilton has the championship in his grasp (although both Mercedes and Lewis aptly deny that its over). Keeping the championship alive, I like it! In order to settle the year long championship Hamilton needs to win 8 more points than Vettel, not much of a tall order given the recent performances both Vettel and Ferrari have put in.
HAmilton seems relaxed and focused on the job ahead, noting on Sky Sports that there are still 100 points up for grabs and he doesn’t want anyone gaining any ground, “there is no room for error”.

Situation in the Middle
Arguably one of the most interesting battles is the battle for 4th in constructors and unlike the top this is so open to speculation! Some real opportunities to make some exciting predictions here. Renault and Haas are up there and the newly formed Force India are also in the running. I expect both Ocon and Perez to play it safe this race following their clash in Singapore and comfortably place their Force India’s in the top 10. Sainz and Hulkenberg also have a good chance here and I anticipate some good racing from both of them.

What happened last year in the US Grand Prix?
The race was decided in the first few laps. Vettel snatched the lead in the uphill dash but Hamilton took it back on lap 7. Bottas didn’t put up much of a fight and we saw some brilliance from Verstappen although we were robbed of an appearance of the Dutchman on podium when the stewards gave him a penalty and place Raikkonen up there instead.
