It’s a back to back Grand Prix Weekend as we head to Mexico’s Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez following a really riveting US Grand Prix last Sunday that reminded us all why we love F1! Can Mexico continue the high? I think so...

>What happened in the US?

Everyone was ready for the Championship to be decided. All Hamilton had to do was come first  which was not that unlikely given his unbeatable track record at the US (excuse the pun) and Vettel to come lower than second. However in the end Hamilton lost out to Kimi Raikkonen and Max Verstappen, clinching third (15 points) whilst Vettel came fourth (12 points).

So where do things stand?

The top teams

The US Grand Prix was no victory for Vettel. He still finished behind Hamilton and 70 points now separate the two drivers. What does that mean? Vettel needs to win the final three races and Hamilton needs to come no higher than 10th in all of them. Hamilton to Win the championship is a safe bet.

I expect to see some Dutch magic from Verstappen again. This guy is unbelievable! He has always done very well in Mexico, last year he came first! I expect him on the podium this year if not win it again. Especially if there is rain, which is forecast.

The teams in the middle

Renault currently sits relatively comfortably in fourth thanks to noteworthy performances by Hulkenberg and Saniz over the year. Hulkenburg also has the pleasure of being best of the rest in the drivers championship, sitting behind the Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull Drivers.

However Sergio Perez is nipping at his heels, trailing by four points, and with Mexico being his home grand prix I expect he may take that spot.
